Gutters and Roof Replacement

Gutters are attached near the roof edge and can affect access and finishing details during a roofing project.

Ask whether gutters stay in place

Some projects can proceed with existing gutters in place, while other conditions may require removal or additional work.

Protect existing components

Discuss how gutters and downspouts will be protected from ladders, debris, material handling, and tear-off work.

Coordinate planned gutter replacement

If new gutters are also planned, ask the providers which work should occur first and how fascia or edge details will be coordinated.

Put additional work in writing

Do not assume gutter repair, replacement, or cleaning is included unless the contract says so.

Planning note: Roofing Help USA provides general homeowner education and may connect homeowners with independent providers. It does not perform roofing work. Verify licensing, insurance, project scope, and contract terms before hiring.
