Tile is heavier than many roofing materials. The provider should evaluate whether the existing structure and roof deck are suitable for the proposed system.
Underlayment matters
Tile is not the only water-management layer. Ask what underlayment system is included and how valleys, walls, edges, and penetrations will be detailed.
Tile type and replacement matching
Ask whether the proposal uses clay or concrete tile, the manufacturer and profile, and how future replacement tiles can be sourced if individual pieces are damaged.
